We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Branko Grisogono on April 23rd 2014.

Branko joined our club in early 2013 having spent some years away from the game. He displayed a great enthusiasm for the game and was also a very amiable companion. In particular Paul Durrant and Gonzalo Shoobridge have mentioned how they enjoyed getting to know him during their many car journeys and also when playing chess with him.

Branko was formally remembered at the Surrey County Chess Association AGM where several people from other chess clubs made complementary statements regarding their memories of him.Thanks to Gonzalo for sharing his picture of Branko, which is how he will always be remembered by us, happy at the chessboard.
