Sadly we got so near and yet so far in the major cup competitions in the 2012-13 season. On 29th May 2013 we drew 3-3 at home with Richmond, the newly crowned Div 1 champions, in the Thames Valley Knock-out semi-final. We lost on board count. A few days later, on 4th June 2013, we played in the Surrey Alexander Cup Final against the mighty Wimbledon. This time it was 5-5 but, alas, again the board count tie-break went against us. All credit to all of the players involved in our cup runs for taking us to the brink. We will nick one soon!

Congratulations to the second team for a storming 8/8 performance in the 2012-13 Surrey Ellam Trophy to achieve a second successive promotion. Paul Durrant has provided a report on the team’s fantastic progress through the season.
