Paul Durrant wins Slater-Kennington Cup to keep it in Surbiton for the last 4 years!

In a competition that eventually stretched from the summer until December 2014 the eventual joint winners of the Slater-Kennington Cup were Paul Durrant of Surbiton and Anthony Hughes of Wimbledon after they tied 1.5-1.5 in the Final play-off. Paul stormed through his qualifying section with 7.5/9 to get to the final. During that phase of the competition Paul did not lose a single game.

To illustrate the diversity of our membership its worth pointing out that Paul is almost exactly 60 years older than another Surbiton chess Club member, Koby Kalavannan, who won this Cup last year!

Congratulations to Paul!
