Koby Kalavannan wins the Slater-Kennington Cup - Three in a row for Surbiton!
During the summer of 2013 the Surrey Individual Championships were held as usual. Koby Kalavannan competed in the Slater-Kennington section. Being the youngest did not deter him and he won the section hosted at Surbiton Chess Club with an unbeaten 5/6. He then won the Final play-off 1.5/2 to win the Slater-Kennington Cup without losing a single game.
Koby's success follows hot on the heels of previous Surbiton winners. Previously Steve Kearney (left) had won in 2012 and Angus James (right) had won it in 2011. A very nice hat-trick for the club!
Congratulations to Koby!
