Koby and Ranesh successful again at the 2017 British Championships

The 2017 British Chess Championships were held in Llandudno, Wales between 28th July and 6th August.

Congratulations again to Koby Kalavannan, who won the U-16 British title with 6.5/7 to add to his haul from last year of the British U-14 and U-15 titles. Koby had also previously won the U-13 title in 2015.

Meanwhile, Ranesh Ratnesan, who captured the U-12 British title last year, played in the Major Open and secured the (U1900) rating prize with a score of 5.5/9. Ranesh also made 2.5/5 in the AM Open tournament.

To complete the Surbiton picture Rajeiv Ratnesan made 4/7 in the U-14 event and 2.5/5 in the U180/2050 event, Hari Stewart 4.5/7 in the U-11s and Oliver Gill scored 6/9 in the Rapidplay.

Well done to all of the Surbiton participants.
